بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ

اَرَءَیۡتَ الَّذِیۡ یُکَذِّبُ بِالدِّیۡنِ ؕ﴿۱﴾ فَذٰلِکَ الَّذِیۡ یَدُعُّ الۡیَتِیۡمَ ۙ﴿۲﴾ وَ لَا یَحُضُّ عَلٰی طَعَامِ الۡمِسۡکِیۡنِ ؕ﴿۳﴾ فَوَیۡلٌ لِّلۡمُصَلِّیۡنَ ۙ﴿۴﴾ الَّذِیۡنَ ہُمۡ عَنۡ صَلَاتِہِمۡ سَاہُوۡنَ ۙ﴿۵﴾ الَّذِیۡنَ ہُمۡ یُرَآءُوۡنَ ۙ﴿۶﴾ وَ یَمۡنَعُوۡنَ الۡمَاعُوۡنَ ٪﴿۷﴾

اللہ کے نام سے جو رحمان و رحیم ہے۔

تم نے دیکھا اُس شخص کو جو آخرت کی جزا و سزا کو جھُٹلاتا ہے ؟ وہی تو ہے جو یتیم کو دھکّے دیتا ہے ، اور مسکین کا کھانا دینے پر نہیں اُکساتا۔ پھر تباہی ہے اُن نماز پڑھنے والوں کے لیے جو اپنی نماز سے غفلت برتتے ہیں، جو ریاکاری کرتے ہیں اور معمولی ضرورت کی چیزیں ﴿لوگوں کو﴾ دینے سے گریز کرتے ہیں۔ ؏١

Here is the English translation:
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Have you seen him who denies the Reward and Punishment of the Hereafter? It is he who pushes away the orphan, and does not urge giving food to the destitute. So woe to those praying ones who are neglectful of their prayer, who show off, and who withhold even small items of necessity (from people).
Subject and Theme:
The subject of this Surah is to explain what kind of moral character is produced in a person by not believing in the Hereafter. Verses 2 and 3 describe the condition of those disbelievers who openly deny the Hereafter, while the last four verses describe the state of those hypocrites who are outwardly Muslims but hold no real conception in their hearts of the Hereafter, its reward and punishment, or its recompense. Taken together, the purpose of describing the conduct of both these groups is to impress upon people’s minds the reality that a strong, firm, and pure character cannot develop in a person without belief in the Hereafter.

موضوع اور مضمون :

اس کا موضوع یہ بتانا ہے کہ آخرت پر ایمان نہ لانا انسان کے اندر کس قسم کے اخلاق پیدا کرتا ہے۔ آیت 2 اور 3 میں ان کفار کی حالت بیان کی گئی ہے جو علانیہ آخرت کو جھٹلاتے ہیں اور آخری چار آیتوں میں ان منافقین کا حال بیان کیا گیا ہے جو بظاہر مسلمان ہیں مگر دل میں آحرت اور اس کی جزا و سزا اور اس کے ثواب و عِقاب کا کوئی تصور نہیں رکھتے۔ مجموعی طور پر دونوں قسم کے گروہوں کے طرزِ عمل کو بیان کرنے سے مقصود یہ حقیقت لوگوں کے ذہن نشین کرنا ہے کہ انسان کے اندر ایک مضبوط اور مستحکم پاکیزہ کردار عقیدۂ آخرت کے بغیر پیدا نہیں ہوسکتا۔
