Surah Ha-Meem As-Sajdah, Footnote No. 5

  1. That is, it is not within my power to remove the covers that have settled over your hearts, to open your deaf ears, and to tear apart the veil that you yourselves have placed between me and you. I am but a human being. I can only make understand him who is ready to meet (the truth halfway).

Surah Ha-Meem As-Sajdah, Footnote No. 6

  1. That is, you may cover your hearts and deafen your ears if you wish. But the reality is that you do not have many gods; rather, there is only one God, whose servants you are. And this is not some philosophy that I have devised through my own reflection and thinking, which has an equal chance of being right or wrong. Rather, this reality has been disclosed to me through revelation, in which there is not even the slightest possibility of error.

Surah Ha-Meem As-Sajdah, Footnote No. 7

  1. That is, do not make anyone else a god, do not worship or serve anyone else, do not call upon anyone else for help, do not bow your head in submission and obedience before anyone else, and do not accept anyone else’s customs, traditions, laws, or code as a binding law to be obeyed.

Surah Ha-Meem As-Sajdah, Footnote No. 8

  1. Forgiveness for the disloyalty you have shown toward your God up to now, for the shirk (associating partners with God), disbelief, and disobedience you have committed until now, and for the sins that you have committed on account of your forgetfulness of God.
