سورہ یونس ایک مکی سورہ ہے، جو مکہ میں نبی محمد ﷺ کی دعوت کے آخری دور میں نازل ہوئی — یہ وہ دور تھا جب قریش کی طرف سے شدید مخالفت اور ظلم و ستم اپنے عروج پر تھا۔
مودودی نے اپنے تعارف میں اس سورہ کو سورہ الانعام اور سورہ الاعراف کے موضوعات کا تسلسل قرار دیا ہے، تاہم اس کا لہجہ اور انداز بالکل منفرد ہے۔ جہاں پہلی سورتوں نے شرک پر براہِ راست اور بھرپور ضرب لگائی، وہیں سورہ یونس کا اسلوب زیادہ دلنشین اور تسلی بخش ہے۔ اس کا بنیادی مقصد ستائے ہوئے مسلمانوں کو حوصلہ دینا اور شک میں مبتلا لوگوں کو دلیل اور سکون کے ذریعے حق کی دعوت دینا ہے۔

عقل اور قصص کے ذریعے جواب:
براہِ راست تصادم کی بجائے، یہ سورہ ان اعتراضات کا جواب پرسکون اور دلچسپ منطق سے دیتی ہے، اور پچھلے انبیاء کے واقعات سے سبق اخذ کرتی ہے — خاص طور پر نوح، موسیٰ اور یونس علیہم السلام کے قصص سے۔ سورہ کا نام جس پیغمبر کے نام پر ہے، یعنی یونس علیہ السلام کا واقعہ، امید اور اللہ کی رحمت کا ایک زبردست پیغام ہے۔ یہ مسلمانوں کو یقین دلاتا ہے کہ جس طرح اللہ نے یونس علیہ السلام اور ان کے ساتھیوں کو تاریکی سے نجات دی، اسی طرح وہ انہیں بھی نجات عطا فرمائے گا۔

ایک اہم موضوع یہ ہے کہ کائنات میں اللہ کی نشانیوں پر غور کرنے کی دعوت دی گئی ہے — آسمانوں اور زمین کی تخلیق، دن اور رات کا آنا جانا، اور قوانینِ فطرت — یہ سب ایک واحد، قادرِ مطلق خالق اور پالنہار کا واضح ثبوت ہیں۔ یہ عقلی دلائل کسی بھی سچے طالبِ حق کے لیے کافی و وافی ہیں۔
تسلی اور امید کا لہجہ:
الاعراف کی سخت تنبیہات کے برعکس، سورہ یونس کا لہجہ زیادہ تسلی بخش اور امید افزا ہے۔ یہ نبی ﷺ اور مٹھی بھر اہلِ ایمان کو ڈھارس دیتی ہے، انہیں ثابت قدمی اور صبر کی تلقین کرتی ہے، اور انہیں یقین دلاتی ہے کہ مستقبل حق کا ہے اور اللہ کی رحمت ان لوگوں کے لیے ہمیشہ موجود ہے جو اس کی طرف رجوع کریں۔
